Ponca City Circuit Annual Reformation Festival

Everyone is invited to join the Ponca City Circuit for our annual
Reformation Festival on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Perry.

This year's topic will be on worship and we will have the Reverend Dr. Paul Grime who will present an organ workshop for any organist that would like to attend.  The time for the workshop will be from 10 am to noon.

Registration for the afternoon presentation on the Theology of Worship will begin at noon.  the sessions will begin at 1:00 pm.  After the presentations there will be a worship service with communion followed by a meal.  This event is provided by the congregations of the circuit and therefore no registration fee is required.  The offering from the worship service will be designated for the Good Shepher Institute.  Please let the members of your congregation know about this opportunity to learn more about the Divine Service and why we do what we do.

SCHEDULE:

►10:00 am to Noon ~ Organ Workshop with Dr. Grime - open to any organist.

►Noon - 1:00 pm ~ Registration for the afternoon presentation

►1:00 - 3:00 pm ~ Dr. Grime's presentation on the Theology of Worship (breaks are included)

►4:00 pm ~ Divine Service  - Dr. Grime preaching

►Meal and Fellowship following Divine Service

Below is a brief biography for Dr. Grimes and an overview of The Good Shepher Institute:

Rev. Dr. Paul Grime is Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Missions at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN.  He also serves as Dean of Spiritual Formation and Dean of the Chapel.  Prior to joining the faculty in 2007 , he served as Executive Director for the LCMS Commission on Worshoip from 1996 -2007.  In that capacity, he led the development and introduction of Lutheran Service Book.  He is the husband of Debra and father of Matthew and Nathan.

The Good Shepherd Institute of Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne is devoted to pastoral theology and sacred music for the church.  Primarily through its annual conferences the Institute addresses issues facing the church by drawing on the church's rich liturgical and hymnic tradition.
